Surfbio, part of the International Day of Women and Girls in Science
Globally, only 33% of researchers are women, they are awarded less research funding than men and are less likely to be promoted”, UN Women said. 📢 Against this background, from SURFBIO we claim their role in Science.
We need to promote their role in this field and, due to the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, our colleagues from ICCRAM – University of Burgos have given a workshop aimed at Infant and Primary school students. This is a way to promote scientific vocations among little girls and spread the SURFBIO project purposes.
Children and parents learnt how to extract ADN from fruits and the basics concepts of microbiology, in a dynamic and fun way. They will be the scientists of the future!
